“Buckthorn and white sweet clover were killing the native prairie grasses they planted and are very difficult to eradicate, so we’re experimenting with goats to eat the bad plants,” said Van Gundy, Executive Director at River Bend Nature Center in Faribault, Minnesota. The goats were ordered from Jake Langeslag, owner at Goat Dispatch. Jake, who has a degree in biology with a focus on ecology, started his business a year ago after reading articles and hearing from the Minnesota DNR that “grazers” were in demand.
