Giant Salvinia spread rapidly through Gapway Swamp, threatening other valuable water bodies in the area. Rob Emens, Dr. Dalton Dockery, and Andrew Howell, along with graduate researchers at NC State University, utilized a powerful combination of treatment options to restore the swamp. The success of these treatments not only eradicated the harmful invasive weed, but also prevented it from spreading to other water bodies via rivers. Watch the video to hear more about these Heroes.
