Superintendents Selected for Golf Industry Show
With all expenses paid by the 2015 Melrose Leadership Academy (a program run by the philanthropic arm of the GCSAA), 17 superintendents were selected to attend the 2015 Golf Industry Show. The show-- which runs Feb. 21-26 in San Antonio-- boasts around 25,000 attendees annually, 18,000 of them members of the Golf Course Superintendents Association of America.
The award was developed to help superintendents who are interested in attending the show, but who have been unable due to the associated costs. Joey Franco, Jr., superintendent at Brookstone Golf and Country Club, was one of this year’s winners. “There are a lot of educational opportunities, career development options and networking opportunities at the show, so I’m really looking for to it [sic].”
