With each unit costing between $70,000 and $90,000, the Japanese company Mamiya-OP plans to begin selling an autonomous mower capable of maintaining grass on golf courses. The unit, able to travel up to 6 mph along a preset route, features a three-axis gyroscope, encoder, and sensors able to spot, and avoid, obstacles often present on golf courses.
